About Me
I’m Sophia, a licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate with three years of experience as a therapist. I specialize in working with clients of all ages who are living with anxiety, ADHD, and depression. I believe that every person knows their story best, and I look forward to understanding and connecting to each of my clients. I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and judgement free environment for everyone so that they are free to explore, heal, and grow into a life they can thrive in.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is rooted in a mixture of strengths-based and person-centered modalities along with expressive therapy. I aim to foster an environment where individuals can learn to care for, and accept themselves for who they are. I am dedicated to meeting each person where they are at, and working together to integrate helpful practices into their life.
Credentials & Experience
I hold a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Portland. My professional experience includes two years working at a children’s crisis psychiatric inpatient unit, and three years as a counselor working with individuals, children, and families.
Outside the Office
Outside of the office I enjoy crocheting and knitting, film photography, bouldering, playing video games, and being outside. I love spending time with my partner, family, and friends, and am passionate about advocating for mental health care and awareness.
I am supervised by Len Kaufman, PhD.
