The QT-BIPOC Therapists Rising Fellowship Program at PMHW aims to provide an inclusive and supportive learning environment for pre-licensed counseling, marriage and family therapy, and clinical social work associates, with a commitment of at least 16 months. It consists of two cohorts that account for intersectional identities: one for BIPOC affinity track (four associates) and the other for LGBTQIA2S+ affinity track (four associates). The cohorts are not rigidly defined and serve to provide opportunities for the associates to gain experience with both outpatient and intensive outpatient programs. In addition, they will attend didactic seminars and specialized trainings to enhance their skillsets.
To ensure culturally responsive services, each associate will be paired with a supervisor who identifies as either a member of Communities of Color or LGBTQIA2S+, or who has a demonstrated record of providing culturally specific services to these communities. The program will employ associates and require them to complete a minimum of ~20 clinical encounters per week (or 235 contacts per calendar quarter) with supervision. The grant funding will cover the cost of training and supervision, supplemented by additional funds from PMHW.
The program aligns with the Behavioral Health Workforce Initiative and its Clinical Supervision Program by providing new supervision opportunities to clinicians who have experience in delivering culturally and linguistically responsive care. It also provides training and supervision to associates that is rooted in health equity and culturally-based practices, addressing the diverse needs of BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals.

Program Description
The QT-BIPOC Therapists Rising Fellowship program offers advanced training for a select eight associate therapists to acquire the necessary skills and experience to become licensed therapists. Each associate therapist will be paired with a clinical supervisor who shares a similar identity and will provide one hour of individual supervision weekly.
The program provides a range of clinical services, including outpatient psychotherapy, intensive outpatient programs, and other population-specific programs. Associate therapists will have the opportunity to choose the services they wish to provide and will receive support from their clinical supervisor.
To ensure a well-rounded learning experience, associate therapists will participate in a 2-hour group supervision every other week, a 2-hour didactic seminar every other week, and a 2-hour practical training seminar every other week. This combination of group and individual sessions will provide ample opportunities for associates to learn and practice new skills.
The program is designed to help associates accrue all the required direct service and supervision hours needed for licensure. Our interdisciplinary clinical environment values the humanity of both practitioners and patients alike. Associates will work in a supportive and collaborative environment that prioritizes the wellbeing of all involved.
