About Me

Hi there! I’m Shannon, and I am currently completing my Master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in ecology, farming, food justice, communications, and education. These experiences deepened my appreciation for the ways in which our relationships—with ourselves, with others, with our communities, and with the natural world—shape our well-being.

I believe that people are wired for growth and connection and that healing best happens through supportive, meaningful relationships. I see therapy as a collaborative process grounded in curiosity, respect, and trust, and I believe that each person brings their own wisdom and strengths to the therapeutic space. I seek to offer a compassionate, emotionally attuned presence in which you can explore your experiences, better understand your patterns, and move towards the authentic life and relationships you desire.

I am especially interested in working with 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, couples, families, and adolescents, and those navigating anxiety, depression, relational trauma, neurodivergence, grief and loss, life transitions, and concerns related to sex, intimacy, and relationships.

Therapeutic Approach

I take a relational, collaborative approach to therapy, and my work draws upon various models, including Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Existential-Humanistic Therapy, experiential approaches, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My work is also informed by feminist, liberation-oriented, and decolonial perspectives that recognize how culture, identity, and systems of power influence our well-being and relationships.

I am committed to creating a space that is affirming, nonjudgmental, anti-racist, gender-expansive, sex-positive, kink-positive, body-positive, and anti-ableist. I seek to honor the contexts in which people developed the ways they learned to cope, connect, and survive, while supporting them in expanding what is possible and creating new experiences that align with their values and goals. Committing to therapy can take tremendous courage, and I consider it an honor to walk alongside you as you navigate your growth and healing.

Outside the Office

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my partner and our dog, Obie. You can often find me hiking, camping, lazing by a river, or wandering the Pacific Northwest forests in search of edible mushrooms amongst the ferns and moss. I also love music and dancing, cooking and sharing meals with loved ones, and getting lost in sci-fi, fantasy, and horror media. I remain passionate about social and environmental justice, food systems, mutual aid, and caring for my human and more-than-human communities.

I am supervised by Brede Parker-Adams, PsyD.
