Quill Hogan, MA

Marriage and Family Therapist Associate

Pronouns: They/Them

About Me

I’m Quill, a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate with three years of experience in working with individuals and relationship systems and in sex therapy. I grew up between the Bay Area, CA and Nojiriko, Japan, often feeling like I didn’t quite belong. As a bicultural, neurodivergent kid, I learned early to question identity, culture, and the systems shaping them, but also to mask parts of myself to fit in. It wasn’t until my late twenties, through deep personal work and community, that I began to fully step into my identities as an auDHD, queer, trans/nonbinary, polyamorous, and kinky person. These experiences led me to want to help others make sense of the stories they’ve inherited, reconnect with the parts of themselves that have been hidden, and move toward lives that feel more authentic, integrated, and aligned. I’m especially passionate about working with individuals and partners exploring their relationship to sexuality and gender, polyamory and non-monogamy, kink, and sexual trauma. I also deeply enjoy working with neurodiverse and/or bicultural individuals and partners. In our sessions, I will listen to your experiences, recognizing you as the expert, and collaboratively guide the direction of therapy.

Therapeutic Approach

I operate from a systemic lens, primarily using narrative, internal family systems (IFS), emotions-focused couple therapy (EFT), and existential humanistic therapy. I strive to create an environment where my clients feel supported and seen for who they are while working towards impactful growth and healing. In addition, I believe that connection to community and to the natural world is important for meaningful change, and that healing must exist in relation to others as well as ourselves.

Credentials & Experience

I hold a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in sexuality from Lewis and Clark College and have additional training in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Emotion-Focused Couples’ Therapy, sexual trauma, sexual dysfunction, mismatched desire, gender affirming care, ADHD, and autism. My professional experience includes 3 years of working in outpatient therapy with individuals and relationships.

Outside the Office

In my free time, I enjoy spending time in nature, traveling, community organizing, writing, watching horror movies, singing in a queer choir, playing with my cats, and spending time with my friends, family, and partners.
