About Me
I’m Kate, a Counseling Associate who graduated from Lewis & Clark with a master’s degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling. I have experience working with OCD, phobias, and other anxiety-related disorders, as well as depression, eating disorders, and body image concerns. I deeply believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to live meaningful and enjoyable lives. There is so much in this world that can make life difficult, and I believe healing happens when we are able to move through suffering together with compassion and support. My goal is to help clients find ways to make life feel more manageable while building a stronger connection to themselves and the lives they want to live.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach to therapy is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), while also drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). I aim to create a comfortable, kind, and supportive environment where clients can laugh, cry, reflect, and grow. I enjoy incorporating clients’ unique lifestyles, values, and strengths into our work together so they can feel empowered to create meaningful change within themselves and their daily lives.
Credentials & Experience
I hold a degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark Graduate School. I have received formal training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), as well as additional training in CBT, ACT, and DBT. My professional experience includes working in eating disorder residential treatment settings and at the Northwest Anxiety Institute, where I worked with individuals experiencing OCD, phobias, and related anxiety disorders.
Outside the Office
When I’m not in the office, I love reading, swimming in rivers, drinking cortados, trying new restaurants, and spending time with my cats, Dave and Chicken.
I am supervised by Judith Faustima, LMFT
