About Me

Hi, my name is Rachel Anderson. I am a Qualified Health Professional student clinician and an outpatient extern. I’m currently in my fourth year of the clinical psychology doctorate program at George Fox University. I was born and raised in California and participated in outreach and volunteering programs which led me to discover my passion for walking alongside others as they encounter various aspects of life. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions and spiritual or religious issues.

Therapeutic Approach

I draw from an integrated person-centered approach emphasizing empathy and empowerment. I operate from a relational lens, highlighting the importance of a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, compassion, and honesty. For me, therapy is about connection, curiosity, and walking together through the exploration of life’s joys and challenges. I aim to embody deeply-rooted hope that encourages clients to embrace courage and self-compassion in the process of healing.

Credentials & Experience

I hold a Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology. I have experience working in both long and short-term therapy in residential and university settings. I have worked with various populations including adolescents, young adults, adults and older adults from various backgrounds and orientations. Additionally, I have experience providing disability evaluation assessments.

Outside the Office

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy time spent in nature and with loved ones. During my free time, I love to play with my dog, explore the PNW, try new restaurants or coffee shops, read, or paint. I’m passionate about helping local communities in the area and enjoy volunteering.

I am supervised by Laurel Fuson-Lang, PsyD
