About Me
Hi, I’m Becky Killion. I am a doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Pacific University and a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
My passion for mental health began early in my life, and I have always been deeply curious about how people make sense of painful experiences. I am passionate about learning how to help people heal, grow, and live in line with their goals and values. My academic and clinical interests have been shaped by a desire to understand the profound ways interpersonal experiences, social environments, and trauma influence health and well-being.
I have experience working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, personality disorders, aging and life transitions, interpersonal distress, trauma-related concerns, grief and loss, self-harm and suicidal ideation, and other complex life experiences. I believe in a holistic and collaborative approach to client-centered care that respects each individual’s unique story, identity, community, and lived experiences while recognizing the broader contexts that shape mental health.
Therapeutic Approach
My therapeutic style is rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and I also draw from other approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I take a collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered approach grounded in evidence-based care.
I aim to create a supportive environment where clients feel safe exploring difficult experiences and developing new ways to cope with challenging emotions and life circumstances without judgment. I am especially dedicated to helping clients cultivate self-compassion, reduce suffering in daily life, and learn new ways of responding to intense emotions, shame, or self-criticism.
Credentials & Experience
I am currently completing my doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at Pacific University’s School of Graduate Psychology. As part of my clinical training, I provide psychotherapy to adults experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety disorders, personality disorders, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, and interpersonal difficulties.
Outside the Office
Outside of work, I enjoy long walks, making jewelry, writing, and spending time with my cat. I also love engaging with books, media, and conversations that explore psychology, philosophy, and the complexities of the human experience.
I am supervised by Laurel Fuson-Lang, PsyD
