About Me

I can relate to the struggle of finding the right counseling fit. I was first drawn to the field at twelve years old while navigating my own mental health journey. When I eventually found the right counselor, I experienced what it was like for those anxious, quiet, and questioning twelve- year-old parts of myself to be genuinely seen and held. Since then, the importance of the therapeutic relationship has remained central to the way I practice.

Although coping skills certainly have their place, I tend to stray away from one-size-fits-all solutions. I am most interested in the history of you. How have relationships shaped the way you understand yourself? What patterns have quietly followed you through chapters of life? What do you value, and what gives you strength?

Therapeutic Approach

My approach is grounded primarily in psychodynamic theory, which means looking beyond what is happening now to understand how your past experiences and relationships may continue shaping you in ways you aren’t always aware of. I make space for you to recount your stories and for me to listen closely, often acting as a reflector or mirror—drawing attention to patterns, emotions, or connections that may be difficult to see when you are living inside the story yourself.

What does this actually look like in therapy? We might explore the childhood origins of a present-day pattern, use expressive or creative interventions when words do not quite capture an experience, or notice something unfolding between us in the room. At times, I may gently challenge you or invite us to stay with something uncomfortable rather than quickly moving away from it.

Relational-cultural and feminist theories also shape my practice. I do not believe our struggles develop in a vacuum; relationships, cultural identities, and experiences of power influence how we understand ourselves and move through the world. We will consider both your inner world and the larger systems you live within, rather than assuming that every source of distress resides within you.

I work with I work with adults (18+) navigating a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Life transitions
  • Relationship concerns
  • Identity and sexuality
  • Substance use
  • Eating disorders/disordered eating

I especially welcome LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients, including those who may have felt misunderstood or asked to fit themselves into spaces that were not built with them in mind.

Credentials & Experience

I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in counseling from the University of North Texas. My clinical experience spans residential, university, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings, including work with substance use, eating disorders, compulsive behaviors, trauma, and significant emotional distress. These experiences have taught me that our most difficult-to-change behaviors often make more sense when we understand what they have helped us cope with or survive.

For this reason, my work is trauma-informed and grounded in principles of harm reduction. You do not need to arrive at therapy already committed to a particular version of change. Instead, we can honestly examine a behavior—what it gives you, what it costs you, and what you would like to be different.

My hope is to create a therapeutic relationship where you can better understand yourself and make meaning of where you have been. From there, we can begin figuring out where you would like to go next.

Outside the Office

Outside of therapy, I like exploring the natural world—whether I’m gardening, moving my body, or getting to know the Pacific Northwest with my dog, Friday. Otherwise, you can usually find me catching live music, hunting for physical media, or, on slower days, settling in with a good meal, movie, or book.
