About Me

My name is Trevor Frankel, and I am a pre-licensed mental health provider with 7 years of clinical healthcare experience working with a diverse group of individuals. My passion for mental health began with navigating through my own mental health struggles and early experiences as a Nursing Assistant aiding those with psychological disorders. I specialize in working with those living with obsessive-compulsive disorders, anxiety disorders, and depression. I believe that seeking out therapeutic guidance can be one of the bravest choices one can make, and I want to help empower the individual along their journey.

Therapeutic Approach

My approach to therapy is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with a focus on Exposure and Response Prevention to foster psychological change by changing one’s behavior. I also draw from other techniques such as Acceptance and Commitment and Dialectical Behavior therapies to encourage healthy coping of difficult thoughts and emotions. My goal is to create a warm, empathetic, and trusting environment where clients can feel safe, vulnerable, and respected. I aim to provide clients with the tools they need to explore their challenges, face their fears, and take back their identity from their symptoms.

Credentials & Experience

I hold a Master of Arts degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from Pacific University. My professional experience includes a year working with individuals in an intensive outpatient setting struggling with debilitating mental illnesses, and a total of 6 years assisting in clinical research studies and providing nursing assistance to those with psychological disorders at the inpatient setting.

Outside the Office

Outside of the office, I enjoy exercising, getting out in nature, traveling, reading, writing, meditating, listening to music and even slowing down with a good Netflix show. I love spending time with my wife, my two cats and dog, my friends, and am passionate about reducing mental health stigma in the community.
