Clinical Social Work Associate

Pronouns: They/He

Hello and welcome! I’m Alexander, a Mental Health Therapist and Clinical Social Work Associate in our QT-BIPOC program. I hold a Master’s degree from the Portland State School of Social Work with a specialization in clinical social work. My practice centers on creating a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment where individuals and couples can explore healing, connection, and meaningful growth.

I work with adults aged 18 and up, with a focus on supporting those navigating the lasting impacts of trauma and the complexities of relationships. My approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, narrative therapy, and polyvagal theory—offering a compassionate, body-informed, and individualized path toward resilience and relational health.

Specialties

Posttraumatic Stress (PTSD):
I support individuals in working through the effects of trauma—whether rooted in childhood experiences, relational harm, systemic oppression, or acute incidents. By integrating polyvagal theory, we’ll work to understand how your nervous system has adapted to survive, and together we’ll develop practical tools to foster regulation, safety, and a renewed sense of agency. My goal is to walk with you as you reclaim your story and begin to heal in a way that honors your experience.

Couples Therapy:
Relationships can be both deeply meaningful and deeply challenging. I work with couples—including those in polyamorous and ethically non-monogamous relationships—to navigate communication breakdowns, repair trust, and build greater intimacy. Whether you’re healing together from trauma, facing conflict, or seeking deeper connection, our work will be grounded in empathy, collaboration, and respect for your relationship values and dynamics.

My Approach

I believe you are the expert of your own life. In person-centered therapy, I create a nonjudgmental space where you feel truly heard. Narrative therapy helps us reframe the stories you tell about yourself and your relationships, opening up new possibilities for change. Polyvagal theory guides our understanding of how your body’s stress responses shape your emotional experience—essential for working with trauma and improving relational dynamics.

Additional Experience

  • Polyamory & Ethical Non-Monogamy (ENM): Affirming support for individuals and couples exploring relationship structures.

  • Intergenerational Racial/Ethnic and Cultural Identity: Helping clients explore identity in culturally grounded and empowering ways.

  • Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI): Long-term support tailored to complex mental health needs.

  • Anxiety & Depression: Practical, collaborative strategies to restore emotional well-being.

My Commitment

Whether you are seeking to heal from trauma, strengthen your relationship, or gain a deeper understanding of yourself, I’m here to support you. My work is collaborative, affirming, and grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship—both with ourselves and with others.

I look forward to the possibility of walking alongside you on this important journey.
