We are a collaboration of psychologists, psychiatric prescribers, counselors, marriage and family therapists and our trainees. We emphasize relationship first and foremost and diagnosis and treatment from within that relationship.

We strongly emphasize trauma informed care, cultural competency, establishing comfort and safety for patients, and coordination of care with primary care doctors, specialists, pediatricians, schools, and other mental health clinicians.

Position: Clinical Supervisor for the QT-BIPOC Therapists Rising Fellowship

Supervisor: QT-BIPOC Therapists Rising Fellowship Program Manager

Hours: Contract

Compensation:  $200.00 per supervision contact hour

Clinical Supervisors for the QT-BIPOC Therapists Rising Fellowship are responsible, depending on specific supervision role, for providing individual and/or group supervision to associate therapists pursuing licensure.  Clinical Supervisors will work closely with the QT-BIPOC Therapists Rising Fellowship Program Manager and PMHW leadership.

About QT-BIPOC Therapists Rising:  A Post-Masters Fellowship Program for Queer, Non-Binary, and/or BIPOC Identifying Pre-Licensed Therapists:

The launch of this program is partially funded through the BHWI Clinical Supervision Expansion Program Round 2.  Through this grant, PMHW plans to build upon our successful eight year record of offering high-quality clinical supervision and clinical services. We are proposing the addition of two new clinical supervision cohorts that focus on providing rigorous specialized training that is culturally and linguistically specific and responsive to communities that are underserved, specifically Communities of Color and LGBTQIA2S+ communities.

One cohort will be a Communities of Color affinity track consisting of four associates and the second cohort will be an LGBTQIA2S+ affinity track also consisting of four associates. The defined boundaries of each cohort is arbitrary;  our intention is to account for intersectional identities for a total of 8 pre-licensed associates to participate.  Cohorts will require a commitment of at least sixteen months from start date. Associates will receive at least one hour of individual supervision per week, two hours of group supervision every other week, and two hours of didactic seminars every other week. This exceeds the minimum standards set forward by the relevant licensing boards (e.g. Board of Licensed Social Workers, etc.) but is consistent with our existing model of supervision for all pre-licensed practitioners.

Associates will be paired with supervisors who identify as either of Communities of Color or LGBTQIA2S+ or with a demonstrated record of providing culturally specific and responsive services to either or both of these groups. Additionally, we plan to engage our current supervisors and contract external supervisors as well as experts in the field to provide the bi-weekly didactic seminars.

Associates will be employed and required to complete at least 20 clinical encounters per week (or 230 contacts per calendar quarter). This is three hours less than standard requirements for full time clinicians to account for time required in supervision and training.

This proposed model differs from our existing model due to the presence of the two affinity tracks as well as the increased amount of specialized training and supervision associates will receive throughout their sixteen months. Additionally unlike the traditional supervision model where associates pay for supervision, associates participating in our proposed program will not be charged for supervision (individual and group) with these costs covered by grant funding along with additional leveraged funds from PMHW.

Our proposed model will serve to meet the intent and purpose of Behavioral Health Workforce Initiative and its Clinical Supervision Program by offering new supervision opportunities to clinicians with experience providing culturally and linguistically responsive care as well as providing training and supervision to associates that is rooted in health equity and culturally-based practices to address the diverse needs of Communities of Color and LGBTQIA2S+ individuals. Ultimately our belief is this will result in an increase in our internal capacity to meet the needs of Communities who are Underserved as well as an increased number of clinicians across Oregon’s behavioral health system trained to meet the diverse needs of communities in Oregon who have been harmed by historical and contemporary injustices.
