Shadee Hardy, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Clinical Director
Pronouns: She/Her
About Me
I’m Shadee Hardy (she/her), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy to adults navigating anxiety, depression, relational challenges, and life transitions. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of St. Thomas and the College of St. Catherine in Minneapolis and have been practicing since 2004. I was drawn to social work because of its whole-person, person-in-environment perspective. I believe we cannot fully understand someone’s struggles without also understanding the systems, relationships, and cultural contexts that shape their lives. My work is grounded in an awareness of how power, identity, and broader social forces influence what we define as “healthy,” “successful,” or “enough.” I see therapy as a collaborative process rooted in curiosity and respect. My role is not to “fix”, but to walk alongside clients as they better understand themselves, loosen the grip of old patterns, and move toward lives that feel more aligned and meaningful. I have particular expertise in working with anxiety, mood challenges, interpersonal dynamics, and misophonia, a neurological condition that is often misunderstood. I also bring a strong foundation in evidence-based treatments and culturally responsive, anti-oppressive practice to my work.
Therapeutic Approach
My work is informed by evidence-based modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy. Rather than adhering rigidly to any single model, I take an integrative approach, drawing thoughtfully from these frameworks and other relevant perspectives to tailor therapy that is guided by each client’s lived experiences, identities, needs, and goals. I aim to create a therapeutic space that feels warm, direct, and thoughtfully challenging. I care deeply about helping clients build emotional resilience, strengthen relationships, and develop a more flexible and compassionate relationship with themselves. At the heart of my work is the belief that clients already possess the seeds of their own healing. Therapy becomes a place to uncover what has been obscured by fear, self-judgment, survival strategies, or oppressive narratives and to experiment with new ways of being in the world.

Outside the Office
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me painting, working on a puzzle, or immersed in some
kind of creative project. I love cooking and baking (especially when it involves trying something
new), strength training, hiking in the Pacific Northwest, and practicing yoga, which is a discipline
I once taught and still engage with daily. Creativity and movement are important parts of how I
stay grounded and connected, and they inform the way I approach both life and therapy.
