Individual Psychotherapy with Children, Adolescents, & Adults
I am a Psychologist Resident at Portland Mental Health & Wellness, supervised by Dr. Brad Larsen Sanchez. I have experience working with youth and adults experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, identity development, family challenges, and relationship issues. I earned my Doctoral Degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, with an emphasis in child and adolescent psychology. I have trained and worked in a variety of settings, including therapeutic day schools, community mental health centers, residential facilities, and psychiatric hospitals. My approach is empathic and collaborative; I strive to create an individualized, supportive environment where clients are empowered to progress towards their goals. I utilize evidence-based treatment approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Humanistic/Existential interventions.
I have formalized training and experience in treating disruptive behaviors in youth, often related to ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, Intermittent Explosive Disorder, and anxiety disorders. For youth experiencing disruptive behaviors, I work closely with the child’s family and school in order to understand a child’s presentation in various contexts, as well as create a plan for change. I also have expertise treating LGBTQAI+ youth and young adults and I am dedicated to providing affirming therapy for transgender, nonbinary, and gender expansive folks. While in Chicago, I ran groups for Lurie Children’s Hospital’s Gender and Sex Development Program and I continue to be involved with the Gender-Affirming Clinicians Collaborative.
