Psychotherapy with Adults

Pronouns: She, Her, Hers

I am an anticipated psychologist resident at Portland Mental Health & Wellness working under the supervision of Len Kaufman, PhD. I anticipate receiving my doctorate in clinical psychology from Biola University in Southern CA.

My pre-doctoral work experience included an APA-accredited internship in central Kansas at Salina Regional Health Center/Veridian Behavioral Health Center as well as practicum placements at university counseling centers, community mental health clinics, and a children’s hospital. My style and approach to therapy stems from contemporary self-psychology while also appreciating humanistic, queer-affirming, and multicultural theory to inform my understanding and approach to various intersectional identities.

As a relational psychodynamic therapist, I seek to offer warmth, curiosity, and a reflective, process-oriented approach to the unique concerns each patient brings to treatment. Additionally, I utilize Emotion Focused Therapy techniques to support patients as they increase attunement to their emotions, needs, and desires, as well as to process their pain as they work toward healing. My main focus as I begin to meet with a patient is to be attuned to the specific needs and goals of the individual and to approach the work collaboratively. I work predominantly with adults and my areas of interest and experience include: sexual, emotional, and religious childhood and adult trauma, relationship issues, medical diagnoses and chronic health concerns, identity development and self-exploration, women’s issues, crises of faith and religion, family of origin differentiation, gender and sexuality, mid-life identity concerns, and grief and loss. I also have experience working with pre-marital and married couples experiencing infidelity, domestic violence, and intimacy concerns. Wherever you are at in your journey, my hope is for you and I to co-create a space open to deep and thoughtful self-reflection established gradually with trust and a sense of being safe enough to take steps toward healing, transformation, and personal fulfillment.
