Miriam Villegas, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Pronouns: She, Her

I’m Miriam Villegas Aguilar, a bilingual professional counselor with extensive experience supporting the Latinx community through trauma recovery, domestic violence intervention, and overall mental health improvement. My passion for mental health began in my home country, Mexico, where I worked as a therapist, professor, and coordinator of specialized mental health teams. I believe therapy should be a safe and collaborative space where clients can reconnect with their strengths, heal from past experiences, and create meaningful change in their lives.

Therapeutic Approach

My therapeutic approach is primarily Psychodynamic, Integrative, and Person-Centered, incorporating Mindfulness and Trauma-Informed Care techniques. I strive to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward at their own pace and according to their unique needs. My goal is to help individuals develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and self-compassion, fostering balance and overall well-being.

Credentials & Experience

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a Specialization in Anxiety and Stress. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Oregon and have worked extensively with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and survivors of domestic violence. My professional background includes providing individual therapy and facilitating workshops focused on parenting, self-esteem, and emotional education.

Outside the Office

When I’m not in session, I enjoy biking, spending time with my partner and dog, and exploring new coffee shops. I also love traveling and learning about different cultures, which continually inspires me to bring openness and curiosity into my therapeutic work.
