Mick Zuniga MA, QMHP

Hi! I am a third-year doctoral student at Pacific University and have received my Master’s in clinical psychology. I am originally from California where I graduated with my Bachelor’s in psychology at the California State University of Monterey Bay. Since then, I have gained clinical experience working across various settings including residential treatment, supportive housing, outpatient clinics, and a college counseling center. My therapy style has a foundation in humanistic theory and prioritizes collaboration, authenticity, and consent. I believe everyone has unique goals for therapy and with support and guidance, we can find the most accessible path to move towards where you would like to get. More tangibly, I incorporate aspects of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to provide many of the necessary tools to get there.

I find meaningful work in helping folks find empowerment and self-compassion in this chaotic world. Love and connection are fundamental human needs, and working through the patterns that inhibit this in our lives can foster a sense of liberation and healing. In addition, I have both lived and professional experience with the trans, queer, polyam, and kink communities. My hope is to provide a safe resource to these communities in my work.

I see clients through the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and receive supervision from Dr. Erica Aten and Dr. Jon Frew
