Pronouns: he/him/él

I believe that human beings are resourceful and resilient and adapt to navigate their environments as well as they can. I lean into the idea that we are the collection of our subjective experiences while holding onto the knowledge that our society, systems, and especially health systems don’t provide equal access or services to Black, Indigenous, and POC. I use an eclectic approach taking from many different modalities and interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, internal family systems, humanistic, and narrative therapy. This allows me to pivot directions when something is not working because therapy is not a one size fits all. Therapy is a collaborative process in which we work together to reach the goals you have identified using the skills you have so far and building new ones. Understanding how systems, culture, and individual thoughts and behaviors impact you is critical to understanding what works and is helpful for you. I believe that you are the expert of your experience and have the autonomy to make your own choices and changes that align with your personal goals of the self, body, mind, and spirit.

I achieved my Master of Social Work from Portland State University. My primary work experience consists of having worked with Latino youth and young adults in Spanish, provided services to folks with multiple vulnerabilities such as those experiencing houselessness and serving young adults (17-24).

I am a first-generation Mexican-American cis-male. My family immigrated from Mexico and I deeply value moments to engage in cultural events. When not working, my dog and I can be found on adventures at the beach or on a trail.
