Student Intern for IOP

Pronouns: they/them

Hello! My name is Flor Eby (they/them). I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and a Master of Social Work (MSW) intern at Portland State University, currently in my advanced clinical year.

For the past 15 years, I have worked in low-barrier harm reduction and community-based work. As a proud Chicano and second-generation Mexican-American, I chose to pursue an advanced degree in order to provide mental health services to fellow QT-BIPOC community members and to help promote diversity in the mental health field.

I specialize in supporting recovery from:

  • Trauma

  • Addictions

  • Racism

I believe in a decolonial and relational approach to therapy.

Therapeutic Approach

My approach is rooted in harm reduction and draws inspiration from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

My goal is to support clients as they move toward:

  • Liberation

  • Connection

  • Healing within their own values
