Individual Counseling & Psychotherapy with Adults
Pronouns: She/ Her
I view therapy as a healing journey through crafting empowering stories of one’s sense of self and building a value-driven life. My theoretical approach to therapy is an integrative, trauma-informed approach that draws from narrative therapy and self-compassion, and is influenced by a disability justice and intersectional framework. By addressing environmental and systemic barriers, relationships, traumatic events, and personal life experiences, I believe individuals can heal and live a present, meaningful life that is guided by their identity and values. I hope to create a safe, empathetic space and empower the client in a way they can be their authentic selves. In my perspective, trust is built when power is shared and vulnerability and personal concerns are approached with non-judgment, care, and respect.
I identify as a second-generation, South Korean American ciswoman. In 2020, I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Oregon. In 2023, I received my Master’s of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling at Portland State University. I completed my practicum counseling and peer supervision experience with the Community Counseling Clinic, as well as my internship experience as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (VRC) at Oregon Commission for the Blind. My clinical interests and specializations include exploring and addressing the experiences of people with intersecting marginalized identities, racial/cultural identity, disability, anxiety, depression, trauma (i.e. racial, institutional, generational, etc.), and other life challenges.
Currently, as a counselor associate, I am supervised by Carina Mariscal Diaz.
Clinical Supervisor: Carina Mariscal Diaz, LPC.
