Mandi Wallace, MA
Qualified Mental Health Professional
Pronouns: She/They
My name is Mandi Wallace, and I am a Qualified Mental Health Professional who is en route to becoming a Registered Professional Counseling Associate. I will have earned my Master’s in Professional Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Addiction at Lewis & Clark. My bachelor’s degree was in Psychology and awarded by Portland State University.
I utilize my foundation of specialized CBT training combined with an existential-humanistic lens in my work with clients. I defend the importance of a technical eclectic approach to offering effective help. I aim to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore meaningful change at their own pace, guided by structured behavioral practice designed to reshape their patterns of response. I gently and candidly challenge clients to explore what is outside of their comfort zone and trust that the most transformative growth and healing happens in relationships. My approach is informed by a social justice orientation, which works to explore client’s concerns throughout treatment and consider context, while acknowledging their sources of strength and ability to choose.
My areas of previous work, education, and interest include:
- Anxiety disorders (OCD, phobias, panic, generalized and social anxiety)
- Disordered eating and body image concerns
- Substance use, harm reduction, and addiction
I am dedicated to tailoring my therapeutic interventions to meet the unique needs of each client and believe this means continuing to seek education in the advancement of treatment approaches that impact the individuals I work with at any given time. As I make progress towards licensure, I am under the supervision of Dr. Erica Aten, PsyD, who is also the clinical director of the IOP programs.
