Pronouns: She, Her, Hers

My position as a Licensed Professional Counselor is to accompany people on their paths toward wellness. In my work, I recognize that we all have rich, complex, and unique stories (both past and present), which are honored and respected within this process.  Life is never devoid of pain, yet I believe that every person holds innate strengths and capabilities to pursue acknowledgment, acceptance, growth, change, and healing. Counseling can be an opportunity to acknowledge what is not working and learn new skills/strategies to help move your life closer to your preferences. I will work collaboratively with you to support in identifying and reaching your goals. This will be an individually tailored experience, where I use a variety of techniques that are best suited for you. If traditional talk therapy sounds difficult or non-preferred, I can offer body-based movement therapy as an alternative. This can be especially helpful with younger kiddos who have excess energy or have limited emotional expression and identification skills.

I am trained and skilled to treat a variety of presenting issues following: anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, relationship and family dynamics, life transitions, addiction, and trauma. Counseling approaches I draw from surround narrative therapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), sensory-motor arousal regulation treatment (SMART), motivational interviewing (MI), attachment, self-regulation, and competency (ARC), and family systems therapy.

I have a Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. I have worked in both rural and urban community settings. This allowed me the privilege of working with individual clients and families from a variety of multicultural backgrounds. I am comfortable using interpreting services if/when needed. Within these clinical positions, I have provided psychotherapy to children, adolescents, families, and parents.
