Madison Weiss, MA

Professional Counselor Associate

Pronouns: She/They

You may be someone who seeks the equilibrium, safety, inner strength and peace of mind which can emerge from living more authentically. You may even know the road to get there, but have experienced times of difficulty, moving you away from where you want to be internally or relationally. You may be ready to engage in delving more deeply into yourself. Therapy can help you reach your goals. It can help you refine your communication skills, and teach you new ones. Face your feelings, and learn to move through them in a safe space that is completely yours. Get a better sense of who you are and who you want to be in the world.

Our work together will be creative, integrative and mindful. As an Associate, soon to be LPC, my graduate studies and Masters degree from Antioch University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, has given me extensive training in psychotherapy with a focus on social justice and diversity.

In addition, I have been trained in by the Canadian International Institute for Art Therapy as a certified facilitator and provider of Art Therapy through their TAPS program. Our sessions could include talk therapy, therapeutic art and sensory awareness. My style is eclectic and I pull from various theoretical points of view and use what works for each client individually, as each person is unique and has unique needs. Theories could include Gestalt, Object Relations, Person Centered, Existential, MBSR, and others.

I believe change and healing develop within the bounds of a safe, trusted, ethical, and healthy therapeutic relationship. I am here to listen, collaborate, & hold space for you as part of this journey. When you are ready, I can help you take back your power, build resiliency and remove roadblocks that are getting in the way.

I am a Professional Counselor Associate, devoted to helping my clients attain their life goals and find purpose. My experiences, passion, and knowledge of both psychology and art, inform my practice as an innovative and compassionate psychotherapist. I am experienced working with the LGBTQIA+ communities, and I am understanding of the specific needs of gay and Lesbian, Bi, Transgender, Agender and other groups as they face challenges whether internal or external. I specifically have experience working with those who have gender dysphoria, or relational issues, grief, PTSD and CPTSD. As well as those seeking a better understanding of themselves and how they walk-in this life through their world with all its joys and challenges. If you would like to move forward on your path, in a safe space no matter where you are in your journey, I can help. I look forward to our work together.
