About Me
My name is Soren, and I’m currently pursuing an MSW at Portland State University. I graduated from PSU with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science in 2023 and spent two years working in a Special Education middle school classroom before entering the MSW program. That experience gave me a strong appreciation for meeting people where they are and creating spaces where people feel understood and supported.
My passion for mental health is also driven by my lived experience being diagnosed with ADHD in my early 20s. Learning to move from feeling “different” or unsuccessful toward accepting and celebrating myself has empowered me to support others toward the same transformation.
My goal is to help people reduce self-judgment through self-exploration, holistic approaches, and empowerment. I believe therapy should be a space not only to work through struggles, but also to recognize strengths, individuality, and the things that make each person who they are.
Outside the Office
Outside of social work, I enjoy DJing, exploring electronic music and events, dancing, and building the stage for a small independent music festival with friends. The electronic music community has been a meaningful source of connection and validation for me as a neurodivergent person.
