About Me
Hi! I’m Maegen, a 4th year graduate student in the PsyD program at Pacific University. My interest in mental health grew out of my experience as a collegiate student-athlete, where I began to understand how much our identities extend beyond performance and developed a deeper appreciation for the complexity of the human experience both on and off the court. I believe psychotherapy can be a meaningful place to explore life’s challenges, build on personal strengths, and reconnect with one’s capacity for growth and change.
Therapeutic Approach
My approach to psychotherapy is grounded in CBT, where I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful patterns and develop practical, effective strategies for change. I also incorporate elements of ACT and solution-focused approaches to support flexibility, values-based living, and goal setting. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences, build new coping skills, and strengthen resilience in all areas of their lives.
Credentials & Experience
I earned my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University and have received additional training in suicide prevention through Lines for Life (ASIST), as well as Mindful Sport Performance Enhancement (MSPE) and The Optimum Performance Program with Sports (TOPPS). Throughout my training, I have worked with children in ABA therapy, adults in community mental health settings, and in college counseling within athletic departments, supporting student-athletes.
Outside the Office
When I’m not in the office, you’ll probably find me outside enjoying the sun (weather permitting), watching basketball, trying a new recipe, or planning my next adventure. I am also a devoted matcha enthusiast and love spending time with my family, my partner, and my dog (who may or may not run the household).
I am supervised by Laurel Fuson-Lang, PsyD
