Karim Dabliz, MA
Psychotherapy with Adults
Pronouns: He, Him
My name is Karim Dabliz, and I am a Professional Counseling Associate. I am originally from Lebanon and moved to the United States to pursue my education. In that time I received a master’s degree in counseling from Portland State University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in psychology. My journey in counseling began working with refugees and immigrants, guiding them as they navigated their own journey in the U.S. I consider it a privilege to be able to meet you in your journey.
In our counseling time together, I emphasize a person centered, psychodynamic, process oriented, holistic approach. I understand that in a therapeutic relationship it is of utmost importance for patience, compassion, and trust to be present. I believe in embodying those qualities in our time together. I will always hold the belief that you innately have the capacity to live a life of fulfillment and happiness. Together, I hope to empower your sense of self and authenticity through gentle reflections, open ended questions, and self discovery. I will often bring in various techniques from ACT therapy, DBT therapy, and motivational interviewing. I understand that each individual is beginning therapy at a different place in their healing journey, and I am honored to share that experience with you.
I work with adults and adolescents on a range of issues including: depression, anxiety, relationships, grief, family dynamics, life transitions, coping skills, and Emotional Support Animal letters. Areas of focus include body image disorders, eating disorders, and immigrant and refugee adjustment
