Graham Borgman, LPC
Psychotherapy with Adults
Pronouns: He, Him, His
I hold a Master’s degree in counseling psychology with an emphasis in depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Prior to joining Portland Mental Health & Wellness I served as a counselor in a semi-residential program for adults with persistent and severe psychiatric challenges and also engaged in private practice. I also provided psychotherapy to adults in an LGBTQ community mental health center in Berkeley, CA.
I work well with individuals experiencing a range of issues and challenges including depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship issues, and self-esteem challenges. Less diagnostic and clearly defined issues such as loneliness, existential anxiety, and a desire for self-exploration are also welcome.
I base my practice in depth and psychodynamic psychology. For your therapy this means that I will accompany you in pursuing meaning or purpose in times of disorientation or hopelessness. I work with each person to develop a therapeutic relationship in order to access and develop the inherent self-knowledge and healing capacity that they contain. I have an abiding passion for accompanying my clients through difficult times in their lives and assisting them in crafting more well-adapted attitudes. While I approach every therapeutic encounter uniquely, I work with the understanding that the issues which have brought you to therapy can become opportunities to lead a more fulfilling life.
