Emily Winslow, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

My name is Emily Winslow (she/her) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master’s degree in Social Work from Wheelock College in Boston, MA in 2015 and have been licensed in the state of Oregon since 2018. I have experience working with pregnant and parenting people impacted by co-occurring substance use and mental health struggles as well as 18-25 year olds facing housing insecurity and other social stressors with a focus on LGBTQIA care. Most of my work experiences have been working with people impacted by interpersonal and systemic trauma and navigating all kinds of personal and life transitions. In the therapy room, I partner with folks to explore what they want out of life and what is getting in the way of getting there. I believe everyone has the capacity to build a connected, meaningful life when they have the support and resources to navigate the journey and I am passionate about joining my clients in that process. Suffering is a part of life and I empower folks to find tools to choose how they show up in the face of suffering in a way that brings more meaning and freedom in daily life. I take a relational and interactive approach to therapy and draw on Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and believe the most effective therapy comes from working with what is coming up in the therapy room.

My approach is person-centered and will focus on what you want your life to look like, exploring your values, and partnering to get you the tools you need to get there. I am a Cis-gendered, White, female and have committed to the exploration of my own identities and experiences, how they privilege and impact me, and how that affects our unique therapy relationship. I approach this work with humility and hold each individual’s experience as unique to them. In my personal time, I enjoy connecting with nature and community with activities like trail running, hiking, backpacking, camping, fly fishing, skiing, gardening, and neighborhood walks with my dog
