Individual Psychotherapy

Practices at Stevens

Pronouns: She, Her, Hers

My name is Christy Cardenas, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.

I have a master’s degree in counseling and psychology from Troy University

and a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and liberal studies from New College of Florida.

Reaching out for support demonstrates a lot of self-awareness and strength. I

consider it a privilege to get to know clients in whatever place they are at in

their lives.

The foundation for the work that I do is my belief that we are all

trying to live our fullest and truest lives while navigating a complex world. It is

my goal to always provide a warm, non-judgmental space and support my

clients in their personal journeys toward greater self-knowledge and healing.

Some of the primary influences that I draw from in therapy include family

systems, trauma research, feminist and anti-oppressive theory, and

mindfulness-based approaches.

I work with adults on a range of issues including: depression, anxiety, family

dynamics, grief, relationships, and life transitions. Areas of particular focus

include: trauma recovery, compassion fatigue, and existential or spiritual

issues.
