As a therapist, I wish to honor the difficulties that bring you into therapy while holding the possibility of greater freedom. I see the heart of therapy being the connection we create to support the unfolding of your life.

My goal in our therapy sessions is to create a space where you feel safe and capable of holding your experience in a new way. Where you can cultivate greater acceptance, curiosity and appreciation for yourself and your life. From this space of self-acceptance, we will begin to explore the ways in which your natural expression has been distorted. In essence, we will recognize the blocks that inhibit you from meaningfully connecting to yourself and others.

I practice a style of therapy, Gestalt Therapy, that is less talking about problems and more an active exploration of your experience in the world, with the hope of opening untapped resources and insight, so you can flow more freely through your life. I am also influenced by Buddhist Psychology and Depth Psychology, which I incorporate into my work.

As a Licensed Practicing Counselor, I work primarily with individuals and have extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, psychosis, feelings of disconnection, loss of meaning, issues of self-worth, difficulties in childhood and relational challenges. I also have a number of years of experience working with adolescents and their families.

I received my undergraduate degree in Humanistic and Transpersonal Psychology from Sonoma State. While there, I was a research assistant at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, exploring transformation of consciousness, culminating in the publication of “Living Deeply; The Art and Science of Everyday Transformation”. In 2015, after being in the field for a number of years, primarily working with at risk youth, I completed a degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark. While there I received a certificate in Ecopsycholoy. I receive ongoing training in Gestalt Therapy from the Gestalt Therapy Training Center Northwest. I have been an active member in contemplative communities for over a decade and bring extensive experience in meditation, mindfulness and spirituality.
