Barbora Sedlakova, QMHP

Psychotherapy with Adults

Pronouns: she/her/hers

I am a psychologist candidate resident at Portland Mental Health & Wellness, working under the supervision of Mark Reck, PsyD. I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic in August 2021.

With over ten years of experience as a therapist in mental health and social services, I work with individuals and couples experiencing depression, anxiety, somatic illnesses, trauma, addictions, relationship concerns, communication issues, and all kinds of life stressors. Using a trauma-informed approach, I apply various psychological methods, including cultural, social and diversity awareness, movement therapy, and creativity. The methodologies include a strong emphasis on Process-Oriented Psychology.

Life can be incredibly difficult. We experience an emotional distress, feel stuck and we long to feel different emotions. It’s natural. At the same time, I believe there is a deeper meaning underneath this suffering that wants to emerge and help us grow. It allows us to understand ourselves better and navigate the next steps in our lives. And that’s exciting. With my heart-supportive, creative, and direct approach, I will meet you where you are at right now and respect the diversity of who you are and your specific needs. We will work together to help you gain a better understanding of your experience and we will learn how you can better cope with life’s many challenges as well as experiment with new ways of being who you are in your true nature.

I am European, born and raised in the Czech Republic and I can provide therapy in both English and Czech.
