About Me
My name is Amber and I am a licensed professional counselor with 5 years of experience working in various sectors of the mental health field from community mental health to rural health care.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations navigating a wide range of experiences and concerns including trauma, substance use, attachment wounds, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I am passionate about reducing barriers and improving access to care across communities.
Therapeutic Approach
I work from a person centered and strengths based lens, but I draw from other modalities such as Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye movement Desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
I believe in client-centered care and empowering individuals to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and clarity. I aim to create a warm, collaborative, and supportive environment that fosters resilience, promotes healing, and allows clients to connect with their authentic selves
Credentials & Experience
I hold a degree from Johns Hopkins University and have training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). My professional background includes working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of care settings including community mental health, group practice, and rural health clinics.
Outside the Office
When I am not in the office I like to incorporate movement and nature into my day, whether that is going for a run, biking a new trail, skiing, or hiking with both my partner and our dog. When I’m seeking stillness and/or time at home, you can often find me baking something sweet, watching a true crime documentary, or cuddling with my cats Polly and Pocket.
