Individual & Relationship Psychotherapy with Adults
Post-Doc Psychologist Residents have completed all doctoral training and are pursuing additional post-doctoral training and hours for licensure at Portland Mental Health and Wellness. They are supervised by licensed psychologists.
My name is Megan Cormier Castaneda and I am a resident psychologist at Portland Mental Health and Wellness under the supervision of Dr. Camille Curry, PsyD.
I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from George Fox University and I completed my clinical internship at the University of St. Thomas Counseling Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. I have a wide range of clinical experiences including a behavioral agency, medical center, community mental health clinic and university counseling centers working with a broad range of ages and diverse backgrounds. My areas of clinical interest include depression, anxiety, identity development, relationship concerns, faith/spirituality concerns and working with individuals who have experienced trauma. I use a psychodynamic, relational therapeutic style that focuses on establishing safety, understanding that therapy can be a risky space to enter. I hope to create room for you to explore freely to help find meaning and make sense of who you are. I listen closely to your experiences and attend to your family-of-origin and other significant relationships to understand your unique history and culture. I strive to cultivate room for deep reflection and self-examination by entering a collaborative relationship, inviting you to use our time in a way that feels right for you.
